Story of Ferdinand & Other Stories. Caedmon Compact Discs CDL5-1341.
The Story of Ferdinand (1936) is the best known work written by American author Munro Leaf and illustrated by Robert Lawson. The children's book tells the story of a bull who would rather smell flowers than fight in bullfights. He sits in the middle of the bull ring failing to take heed of any of the provocations of the matador and others to fight. Young Ferdinand does not enjoy butting heads with other young bulls, preferring instead to lie under a cork tree smelling the flowers
This is the story of ferdinand for kids. Once upon a time in Spain, there was a little bull and his name was Ferdinand. All the other little bulls he lived with would run and jump and butt their heads together, but not Ferdinand. He liked to sit just quietly and smell the flowers. Sometimes his mother, who was a cow would worry about him. She was afraid he would be lonesome all by himself. Why don’t you run and play with the other little bulls and skip the butt your head? she would say. Ferdinand would shake his head and say, I like it better here where I can sit just quietly and smell the flowers!. You may also like, The Tale Of Benjamin Bunny. the story of ferdinand. Among other projects, Verdon also helped Fosse with his work on the l 1979 film All That Jazz. The film features the character Audrey Paris, reportedly based on Verdon, as well as the actresses Jessica Lange, with whom Fosse was rumored to have had an affair, and Ann Reinking, Fosse's real life partner who also plays the director's girlfriend in the film.

The Story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf. This beloved story of a bull who refuses to fight has been around since 1936. Adolf Hitler had it banned in Germany because he saw it as pacifist propaganda. She is fearless but has humility, she isn’t worried about what other people think of her, and she truly believes that anything is possible. Many small children actually believe those same things, but it seems like as we get older, we tend to forget. Read this book if you need reminding (and who doesn’t?) that we are all stronger than we think and maybe we really CAN do anything.
