Noel attempted to contrast Oasis and Nirvana, and Kurt and himself. The main difference, as Noel stated, was Here was a guy who had everything, and was miserable about it. And we had fuck-all, and I still thought that getting up in the morning was the greatest fuckin' thing ever, ‘cause you didn’t know where you’d end up at night. Rather poorly, they released it just months after Cobain died, in 1994. In 2006, it was included in the Best Of -compilation Stop The Clocks and in 2010 it was included in the singles collection Time Flie. 994-2009. I think I first heard it in the Boardwalk in Manchester when our kid (Noel Gallagher) was trying it out. Even when we’re starting it now I always feel like we’re going to perform our best version of it. It makes me think of me mam. And it’s the song that makes me feel I have the best job in the band. I may not have written it but I get to sing it.

Gallagher thinks he could have done well at school if he'd tried. He was expelled at 15 for throwing a bag of flour down the stairs and over a teacher. His mother Peggy was a dinner lady, father Tommy a labourer when he could get the work. He was a typical Irish drinker-worker, always at the bookies, always gambling on something, didn't take his drink very well, quite violent. When Noel was 17, Peggy took the boys and moved away from Tommy. I wrote that album when I was 21/22, and the people who picked up on that album were 21/22-year-olds. You can only do it once. We went on that tour and we were the same as them.

If you aren't familiar with the feud between the brothers and cofounders of the band, Oasis Liam and Noel Gallagher, let this quote by the former from last month enlighten you: "Every time I see a couple of pictures of him, I just see a potato-maybe it's the way my brain is wired. Stalker potato when he’s got his arm around Bono," he said of what he perceives to be Noel's fascination with celebrity, which is part of what's lately driven the pair apart

When it comes to rock feuds, few are as entertaining as the one between Oasis‘ Liam and Noel Gallagher. The swaggering brothers’ longstanding beef – which stretches back to childhood – was as much a part of the band’s mythology as its devotion to the Beatles, or its fondness for alcohol-fueled antics. And even though Oasis broke up in 2009, following years of threats on the part of either Gallagher, the feud continues to this day, with the estranged brothers trading barbs in the press and on social media. I’d rather eat my own shit than be in a band with him again, Liam said in 2011. 2010: Liam snubs Noel at the Brit Awards Oasis were no stranger to the Brit Awards, but the band was awarded its last honor – the Brits’ best album of the past 30 years for (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? – in 2010, after they’d split for good.

Agree? Liam Gallagher’s debut solo record is out tomorrow – and, y’know what – the boy’s only gone and done it. It’s a corker. But where does it rank in the iconic frontman’s lengthy catalogue of records, from Oasis to Beady Eye? Well, we asked him. Here’s Liam Gallagher’s discography – in his own words. Oasis – ‘Heathen Chemistry’ (2002). I can’t even remember that one. I didn’t like the title either. Heathen Chemistry’? F k of.Oasis – ‘Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants’ (2000). That was when the band went a bit t s-up so I’m not fond of that really

Check out Noel Gallagher's gear and equipment including the Gibson ES-355 Electric Guitar, 1993 Epiphone Nashville Series Sheraton Union Jack Finish, and 1960 Gibson Les Paul. Noel’s first Gibson Les Paul was a 1960 spec sunburst model which he borrowed from Johnny Marr (Originally a 1952 Gibson Les Paul standard Goldtop converted to 60 spec) – ex-guitarist of The Smiths. Noel wrote and recorded Slide Away and Live Forever on this guitar. Unfortunately he broke the guitar’s neck at the heel in 1994 in Newcastle when a fan climbed on the stage and Noel smacked the fan with the guitar
