Kathleen Alice Mattea (born June 21, 1959) is an American country music and bluegrass singer. Active since 1984 as a recording artist, she has charted more than thirty singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including four that reached No. 1: "Goin' Gone", "Eighteen Wheels and a Dozen Roses", "Come from the Heart", and "Burnin' Old Memories", plus twelve more that charted within the top ten. She has released fourteen studio albums, two Christmas albums, and one greatest hits album
Kathy Mattea is the debut album by American country singer Kathy Mattea. It was released in 1984 (see 1984 in country music) on Mercury Records. It includes the singles "Street Talk", "Someone Is Falling in Love", "You've Got a Soft Place to Fall", and "That's Easy for You to Say". The song "(Back to the) Heartbreak Kid" was later released in 1986 by Restless Heart from their self-titled debut album.

Although Kathy Mattea's self-titled 1984 debut album boasted four chart singles (two of them released in advance of the LP itself), it sounded like the material had been chosen from a batch of typical Nashville publishing demos without a lot of concern for who was going to sing them. The album showed promise mostly because of the sound of Mattea's warm, confident alto. Everything is different on her second album, From My Heart.
I received Kathy Mattea/Lonesome Standard Time in a "From My Heart" case. Would realy like to get the CD From My Heart and return Lonesome Standard Time. This album was not a success - it yielded some minor country hits but did not have that one big hit necessary to make people take notice of Kathy's music. Allen Reynolds, who also produced her later successful albums as well as many of Crystal Gayle's classic seventies albums, produced this album but the musicians were different. This is more of a mainstream country album - her later albums have folk and bluegrass influences.
Kathy Mattea is the debut album by American country singer Kathy Mattea. It was released in 1984 (see 1984 in country music ) on Mercury Records. It was released in 1985 on Mercury Records, singles from the album include Its Your Reputation Talkin, He Wont Give In and Heart of the Country. Like her self-titled debut before it, From My Heart peaked at on the Top Country Albums charts and Chain is a cover of an Elton John song, from his 1982 album Jump Up. Walk the Way the Wind Blows.
Album Willow in the Wind. Come From the Heart Lyrics. dance like nobody's watchin' It's gotta come from the heart If you want it to work Now here is the one thing I keep forgettin' When everything is falling apart In life as in love, you know I need to remember. There's such a thing as trying too hard You got to sing like you don't need the money Love like you'll never get hurt You got to dance like nobody's watchin' It's gotta come from the heart If you want it to work You got to sing sometimes like you don't need the money Love sometimes like.
