Dhruba Ghosh - Sarangi mp3 download

Dhruba Ghosh demonstrates the North Indian sarangi; recorded in 2012 at the Atlas Academy, in Amsterdam.

Before the fun folk song from eastern Uttar Pradesh, "Kajri in Dadra Tal," comes the main piece of the album, the "Raga Kaushi Kanada," a raga for late night that combines the raags "Malkauns" and "Darbari Kanada. Dhruba Ghosh's performance of this raga has an opening, slow section of almost 40 minutes followed by a fast section of nearly 20 minutes in length. In addition to the excellent music heard on Sarangi is the added bonus of its detailed and informative English liner notes.
