1. Come Fly With Me Lyrics. Weather wise, it's such a lovely day Just say the words and we'll beat the birds down to Acapulco Bay It's perfect for a flying honeymoon, they say Come fly with me, let's fly, let's fly away. Once I get you up there, where the air is rarefied We'll just glide, starry-eyed Once I get you up there I'll be holding you so near You may hear angels cheer 'cause we're together. Weather wise, it's such a lovely day You just say the words and we'll beat the birds down to Acapulco Bay It's perfect for a flying honeymoon, they say Come.

In fact, Come Fly With Me is filled with varying moods and textures, as it moves from boisterous swing numbers to romantic ballads, and hitting any number of emotions in between. There may be greater albums in Sinatra's catalog, but few are quite as fun as Come Fly With Me. Track Listing.

I can live without "Blue Hawaii." But everything else floats like a breeze, caressing your ears in a way Sinatra had never done before. Come Fly with Me is one of the funnest Sinatra albums because it is such a leisurely obvious concept--second perhaps only to Moonlight Sinatra. Not to mention more than half of the record is songs Sinatra turned into classics."Fasten your seat belts," Sinatra would say before singing the title song, taking the audience for a ride to exotic locals they only dream of visiting. Come Fly with Me takes the audience for that ride the whole way through. And what a ride it' is! It is an escapist record--in much the same way most popular '80s cinema is. It's heartfelt, the ballads are beyond beautiful, the swingers are irresistibly saucy. Come to think of it, Sinatra had never before made a record blending both together until now. Maybe that's why Come Fly with Me still ranks among his best-selling studio releases. It's an all around pleaser.Highlights: "Come Fly with Me," "Isle of Capri," "Autumn In New York," "On the Road to Mandalay," "April In Paris," and "London by Night."

This is Sinatra's travelogue album as every song has to do with travel. This was also nominated for Album Of The Year at the first Grammy Awards. Very cheerful album.

Part of a series of concept albums that marked a career comeback for Ol’ Blue Eyes, Come Fly with Me is obviously themed around travel. Most songs are focused on a single place: New England, London, Paris, Mexico, Hawaii, etc. Interspersed are a few songs generally about traveling or vacationing. As a result, the record has a variety of musical approaches and moods, reflective of the attitude of each location. In general, it is a bright, mostly upbeat record when compared with Sinatra’s prior release, the moody Only the Lonely. I tend to prefer the melancholy Sinatra, but the relaxed joy of songs like the title track and “Brazil” is difficult to resist.

One of Frank's very best. He was in great voice; Billy May wrote some sizzling charts and some lovely slow ones, too. Ideal selection of songs, including the opening and closing numbers written by Sammy Cahn and James Van Heusen especially for the record.Interesting curio: In the UK only, the album did not include On the Road to Mandalay. The Kipling family didn't like Frank's swinging version of Rudyard Kipling's words, so it was replaced with It Happened in Monterey which had appeared on an earlier album but fit nicely with the travelogue theme of Come Fly With Me.
