J'ai eu la chance, dans ma lointaine banlieue, de voir cet excellent groupe dont j'ignorais toutEh bien, il s'agit de sacrés musiciens. Un ensemble bien en place qui n'a de quartet que le nom car ils sont entre 5 et 7 sur scène suivant les morceaux. Le leader et trompettiste Jan Schumacher est aussi le compositeur des thèmes. Le tromboniste Gueorgui Kornazov et le saxophoniste Gregsky sont d'excellents musiciens, tout comme le contrebassiste et le pianiste. Un joueur de tablas dialogue en permanence avec le batteur et donne ainsi une rythmique particulièrement efficace. Une musique d'aujourd'hui teintée d'un peu d'Orient (la présence d'un joueur de tablas contribue à ce climat). L'image qui illustre le disque correspond très bien au climat qu'ils installent. Une musique sans concession. Comme on l'écrit sur le site Citizen Jazz: "le groupe existe depuis 10 ans, se connaît parfaitement et maîtrise la science de l'interaction". Juste un tout petit reproche: d'un thème à l'autre on a l'impression d'une redite rythmique, mais en même temps l'atmosphère qu'ils installent est aussi une signature.Ne les loupez pas s'ils passent dans votre quartier!
