However, Uncle Wiggly prove themselves champs of the genre (or is it subgenre?) on this inspired 75-minute instrumental opus. Consisting of 20 individual pieces of divine clatter, this album creates a groove that is hypnotically engrossing throughout. There's a bit of everything related to the prog-improv-noise underground: lots of totally submerged, entrail-flaying guitar murk, lots of Velvets-type downstrokes, and even some dabbles into brass ("Greek Chorus II") and slide guitar ("Nylon Shimmer," which gently wafts into mantralike proportions).

Uncle Wiggly was a band formed in New York City circa 1988. New York City, New York, United States. They then released the Jump Back, Baby album on TeenBeat Records in 1996, their hook-laden bid for a wider audience and hopefully the commercial rewards that went with it. Their final release was on the Dark Beloved Cloud label, the 1999 all-instrumental disc called Farfetchedness. Uncle Wiggly have featured on many compilation albums, including Rutles Highway Revisited, a tribute to The Rutles, Soluble Fish and We're All Normal And We Want Our Freedom, a tribute to Arthur Lee and Love.

New York's experimental combo Uncle Wiggly was born as a side project of Fly Ashtray's James Kavoussi and Mike Anzalone, who joined forces with guitarist William Berger. The all-instrumental album Farfetchedness (Dark Beloved Cloud, 1999) brings them back to their experimental roots with a set of 20 demented compositions that span all sorts of styles. World Of Dreams is another project by William Berger. Who is Yadoosh (Dark Beloved Cloud, 1999) sounds like a tribute to the giants of German rock.
