I first became aware of her as an artist when she recorded for the fabled Gold Castle Record label in the late 1980s. That was the label that brought out some great music recorded by Joan Baez, Judy Collins, Peter, Paul and Mary, the Washington Squares, Bruce Cockburn among others.

She is the daughter of folk musician Terry Gilkyson, sister of cowpunk musician Tony Gilkyson and married to feminist author Robert Jensen. She lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico during the 1970s.
