Where Have All The Flowers Gone. 1-7. Secret Agent Man. 1-8. (I Whashed My Hands In) Muddy Water.

Johnny Rivers was born as John Ramistella and became Johnny Rivers because Allan Freed gave him this alias or atistic name.

While this two-CD collection does include all but one of his Top 40 hits, it's not quite the ultimate Johnny Rivers anthology, nor is it even the best double-CD "best of" devoted to the man. That honor still belongs to Rhino's Anthology, 1964-1977, a preferable compilation if you can find it. While almost all of Rivers' big, popular hits are on disc one of Secret Agent Man, most of disc two is devoted to tracks from obscure post-1990 releases, long after Rivers had last visited the charts.

Produced by the legendary Johnny Rivers himself, the 36-song, two-CD set Secret Agent Man: The Ultimate Johnny Rivers Anthology 1964-2006 is the most comprehensive collection of his music ever released. The anthology features 19 of his chart hits, including 15 hard-to-find tracks released on his own label. In the '70s he returned to his rockin’ roots and over the next 30 years released album after album of vibrant rock ’n’ roll. Secret Agent Man is the definitive collection from this legendary artist. My previous Johnny Rivers compilation cd sounded very thin. This is not the case with "Secret Agent Man - The Ultimate Johnny Rivers Anthology 1964-2006". You forget just how many hit records Johnny Rivers had until you have them all on a cd like this. His music is very much in the feel good mode and this disc has seldom been out of my player since it arrived. The Ultimate "Secret Agent Man" is nice Clean and Clear Copies of his older song plus adds his newer songs in 1964-2006. There are songs on both collections that are not on the other one, so I will be keeping both and adding them to "Back At The Whisky" I got Johnny Rivers now covered. 6 people found this helpful.

That wouldn't be such a problem if these recordings were on par with those.
