Christoph Prégardien (born 18 January 1956) is a German lyric tenor whose career is closely associated with the roles in Mozart operas, as well as performances of Lieder, oratorio roles, and Baroque music. He is well known for his performances and recordings of the Evangelist roles in Bach's St John Passion and St Matthew Passion. Born in Limburg an der Lahn, Germany, he began his musical education as a choirboy at the cathedral's boys' choir, the Limburger Domsingknaben.

Tenor Christoph Prégardien began his musical education at the Limburg Cathedral Choir School. He went on to study at the Frankfurt Musikhochschule with Martin Gründeler, and later with Carla Castellani in Milan, Karlheinz Jarius in Frankfurt, and Alois Treml in Stuttgart. Prégardien has built up . .Their debut album for the label, Schubert's Winterreise, won numerous awards, including the Caecilia Prize, the Edison Award, a Diapason d'Or, and a Choc du Monde de la Musique, as well as being chosen for the German Record Critics' Quarterly List. Other releases by Prégardien have included a CD of songs by Beethoven and his contemporaries Nikolaus von Krufft and Franz Lachner; Brahms' Die schöne Magelone; and in 2014, a recording of duets with his son Julian.
