We got the best years ahead We know we do We reach for love It meets us on the headway Blind to the upcoming eye Caught in the fuss above Right in the prime of your life Struck by the force of us. And all because we trust two vines Slowly growing right into your ears Show me all the life Lead us in your wind tonight Two vines Two vines. We're going out Tonight, won't you come along? We'll wake the dawn Not replaying memories Fly to the sky up above Caught into all of us Right in the prime of our lives Struck by the.

Empire Of The Sun - Two Vines (Album Teaser). I've always loved to travel and play my songs, meet new people and see different places. I love to roll into town in the early morning and walk the deserted streets before anybody gets up. Love to see the sun come up over the highway. Then, of course, theres playing on the stage in front of live people, feeling hearts and minds moving. Everybody don't get to do that. Touring to me has never been any kind of hardship.

That's the vibe of Two Vines, Empire of the Sun's lush and verdant album of relentless hope. It's got all the colorful vibrance of the duo's previous efforts, but something about it is even more perfected. We're just going deeper into paradise, Steele says. Much of Two Vines was recorded in Hawaii, a place that infects one with a sense of joy and wonder. It's inevitable, Steele says. It's kind of like going to a Kraftwerk concert and not being inspired by the future.

Back in 2008, Empire Of The Sun were glorious weirdos who wrote great pop songs. Now they’re just coasting. Back in 2008, Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore appeared like a pair of exotic spacemen who’d seemingly teleported in from the fringes of the galaxy to spread their peace-loving utopian vision of the future. They had daft names (Emperor Steele!) and talked up their brand of globalised pop music in a way that was appealingly silly. But then their second album, 2013’s ‘Ice On The Dune’, was a bit uninspired. So, is it time to restore the magic? ‘Two Vines’ features members of David Bowie’s ‘Blackstar’ band and Prince’s Revolution, and a guest spot from Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsay Buckingham. This time, they say, the album’s vision is that of a city overtaken by jungle. While that sounds interesting, the reality is that this is the sound of a band coasting.

'Two Vines' is the third studio album by Austrailian electronic indie duo Empire Of The Sun, the followup to 2013's 'Ice On The Dune'. I've never actually listened to any of their catalog, apart from the song "Walking On A Dream" which performed well and recieved more than enough airplay on alternative radio. So other than that song, I went into this album blind, not knowing what to expect. My overall thoughts? It's a fine record in it's own right, but there was little worth remembering about it. The album starts off on an okay base with "Before" leading to the pretty decent lead single "High and Low" and it's pretty much here and there from that point. There's nothing really incompetent about this album, but at the same time, there's material that's easy to forget after you listen to it. Particulary the closing track "To Her Door" ends the album on what I feel is an unjust ending. The song, to me, doesn't feel like one worth remembering and for that, I feel a little disheartened at the end of it. The one song I would recommend to people or fellow first-timers with this band that stuck with me on this album would be the song "Way To Go". Probably one of the best David Bowie tributes I've seen or heard all year. Apart from that song and the lead single "High And Low", this is an album to try out at least once and if you like it, keep listening to it. But if your like me and haven't heard much of this band, you probably might come back to it every once in a while, but not like every hour of the day.
Big fan of the Australian band. Their third album is the most coherent by now. 'Two Vines' can be listened as a continuously replayed playlist, is full of warm and peaceful echoes. Worth having it!
