Venezuelan Carnival Music Album - Produced in collaboration with Smithsonian Folkways Records, ¡Parranda! is a selection of tracks performed by the group La Sardina de Naiguatá. The Burial of the Sardine occurs on Ash Wednesday, and traditionally marks the end of Carnival. A procession makes its way to the shore where the ritualistic sardine is thrown into the ocean. The album design communicates the festive carnival atmosphere and lively street music. The dos-à -dos format lends english and spanish liner notes equal prominence. Parranda Album Design.
