No Heavy Petting is the fifth studio album by the British rock band UFO, released in 1976. It is the first UFO album to feature a full-time keyboard player as a member of the band, making this their first record as a five-piece band. While keyboardist Danny Peyronel only stayed in the band for this one album, he did co-write several tracks on the record. In 1994, a CD including this album and Lights Out was released by BGO Records.

I bought this album (vinyl) in 1976 on release and it has always been one of my favourite albums of all time. Allmusic for some reason does not like it, but it is a consistently good range of songs, with Michael Shenker's guitar to the fore and Mogg's vocals sounding great. It starts off rocking with Highway Lady and moves thru synthesised riffs in Bella Donna and bluesy tunes like I'm a Loser and Martian Landscape.
This is a really great release for UFO I disagree with the allmusic review. The album is very focused "Belladonna" is such a great song my friends and I used to listen to "I am Loser" drink beers and sing all night long!!!
Released in May 1976 No Heavy Petting is a transitional album for UFO. It's the first as a five piece band and the first (and last) with Danny Peyronel on keyboards. The album is full of great riffs and solos by Michael Schenker. There's great hard rock tracks ("Natural Thing", "I'm A Loser", "Can You Roll Her") a bluesy dark "On With The Action" and two beautiful ballads ("Belladonna " &"Martian Landscape"). Mogg`s vocals are full of confidence, Shenker`s guitar as I mentioned before really shines and Peyronel does a great job especially in songs that he co-written. One more time a wonderful cover art by Hipgnosis. A must have.
I too bought this lp upon it's release."On With The Action" is one of the best tracks, especially following "Highway Lady". Shenkers solo's, particularly the second one kicks ass with amazing intensity. This is a classic rock lp right up there with the best of them. It puts me in mind of Climax Blues Bands "Tightly Knit" lp, gems that need to be discovered & admired
Excellent record....this is one of the most interesting Hard Rock New Metal bands....first two lp's spacey jammy psychedelica almost Dead like...very enjoyable...they pick up a guitar God....and...Phenomenom...under rated....then until and including Strangers....mostly EPIC...Oh Yea...they also kill Frankie Miller's A FOOL IN LOVE...????????
