Intimacy Remixed, a collection of songs which initially appeared on Bloc Party's patchy third album, is unprecedented in its field. Tough as it may be for the purists to comprehend, this record is better than the original. Villians remix of Ares is a great start to proceedings. John B cuts his trance 'n' bass moves sweetly over Trojan Horse, which merely bores in its original incarnation, but here soars before, during and after a lengthy euphoric breakdown. Armand, who many would argue made the first ever essential remix with his take on CJ Bolland's Sugar Is Sweeter, is content to toughen up Signs into something much more dynamic than the original.

Intimacy Remixed is the second remix album of Bloc Party's work following Silent Alarm Remixed, the remix album to debut full-length release Silent Alarm. Details of the record and its track listing were confirmed on 16 March 2009 after the band's European tour in support of Intimacy. Several dance acts, DJs, and alternative music groups were asked. Mogwai, whose debut album Mogwai Young Team is frontman Kele Okereke's musical "Year Zero", were drafted in to remix "Biko". P Remix)" is Intimacy.

The album's take on 21st century life and love was heavy listening in large part because it felt so personal. Bloc Party's mood is just as dark on Intimacy, which plays a lot like A Weekend in the City's mirror twin: it's a breakup album that gives personal situations a political heft
