Black Sabbath - Paranoid (1970).
Paranoid is the second studio album by the English rock band Black Sabbath. Released in September 1970, it was the band's only LP to top the UK Albums Chart until the release of 13 in 2013. Paranoid contains several of the band's signature songs, including "Iron Man", "War Pigs" and the title track, which was the band's only Top 20 hit, reaching number 4 in the UK charts. It is often cited as an influential album in the development of heavy metal music.
Paranoid is the second studio album by the English rock band Black Sabbath released on September 18th 1970 in the UK and on January 7th 1971 in the US, it was the band's only LP to top the UK Albums Chart until the release of 13 in 2013.
Propelled by its lead single, Paranoid was the only Black Sabbath album to top the British charts for the next four decades. where it nearly broke into the Top 10 mere months after the band’s small stateside debut, it has gone platinum four times. In ceding to Vertigo’s commercial instincts about Paranoid, both as a single and album title, Black Sabbath helped launch heavy metal not just as a genre but also as a veritable industry.
Black Sabbath : Paranoid,альбом, рецезия, трек-лист, mp3, тексты песен. Musically, Black Sabbath had definitely evolved somewhat from their title album. The production quality is a little lacking, but that's to be expected from 70s music. Ozzy's vocals are now on the high-end, as opposed to his lower-register "wailing" from the first album. Though he can still make some impressive 'howls' on this album which, to me, is even darker than Black Sabbath's debut album had been. If anything, Bill Ward seems to have gotten even better at drumming than before
Paranoid" was the first Black Sabbath single release, coming six months after their debut album was released. Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler (from Guitar World magazine, March 2004): A lot of the "Paranoid" album was written around the time of our first album, Black Sabbath. Paranoid" was ranked No. 1 on VH1's 40 Greatest Metal Songs. In March 2005, Q magazine placed it at number 11 in its list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Tracks The original Black Sabbath recording has been used numerous times in various films and television shows including Sid & Nancy, Dazed and Confused, The Stoned Age, Any Given Sunday, Almost Famous, We Are Marshall, The Angry Birds Movie, Suicide Squad and Kong: Skull Island.
Black Sabbath’s second album topped the UK Charts, containing the hit songs Paranoid, War Pigs and Iron Man. It is considered a classic and is one of the most influential albums in heavy metal history. The album is widely considered the best metal album of all time, but the whole record features songs classified in many genres, like Planet Caravan, a psychedelic rock classic.
Where the extended, multi-sectioned songs on the debut sometimes felt like aimless jams, their counterparts on Paranoid have been given focus and direction, lending an epic drama to now-standards like "War Pigs" and "Iron Man" (which sports one of the most immediately identifiable riffs in metal history). The subject matter is unrelentingly, obsessively dark, covering both supernatural/sci-fi horrors and the real-life traumas of death, war, nuclear annihilation, mental illness, drug hallucinations, and narcotic abuse
