Leipziger Vocalensemble (Vocal Ensemble). Founded: 1976 - Leipzig, Saxony, Germany. The Leipziger Vocalensemble ( LVE) was created under the name Leipziger Vokolkreis in 1976 by Georg Christoph Biller, who later became a Thomaskantor but has remained faithful to his roots until today. The special request of the LVE exists in the performance rarely heard and contemporary choral music, but above all they are dedicated to performance of the vocal works of . Since the appointment Georg Christoph Biller as Thomaskantor the ensemble is merged with the Thomanerchor Leipzig in programmes of motets and cantatas. Bach as well as his Passions and the (BWV 248) arrange the ensemble in artistic co-operation of many years with the Leipziger Barockorchester.

Georg Christoph Biller (born 20 September 1955) is a German choral conductor. He conducted the Thomanerchor as the sixteenth Thomaskantor since Johann Sebastian Bach from 1992 to 2015. He is also a baritone, an academic teacher and a composer. Born in Nebra, Biller was a Thomaner, a member of the Thomanerchor, from 1965 to 1974 with Erhard Mauersberger and Hans-Joachim Rotzsch.
