John Vesey, 4th Viscount de Vesci. John Robert William Vesey, 4th Viscount de Vesci (21 May 1844 – 6 July 1903) "Yvo", was an Anglo-Irish peer and British Army officer. He was the eldest son and heir of Thomas Vesey, 3rd Viscount de Vesci (. 875) by his wife Lady Emma Herbert (1819-1884) youngest daughter of George Herbert, 11th Earl of Pembroke. In 1863 he was commissioned into the Coldstream Guards
Vesey was born John Harman, probably about 1462, the son of a yeoman farmer, in a farmhouse which still exists near the site of Moor Hall, Sutton Coldfield. He received his education at Magdalen College, Oxford, where he gained a doctorate in canon and civil law. After ordination he was appointed rector of St Mary's Church, Chester. He founded Bishop Vesey's Grammar School for boys in Sutton Coldfield in 1527, which is named after him to this day. Vesey became a friend of Thomas Wolsey who was also educated at Magdalen College.
Spring begins at the vernal equinox which, for the northern hemisphere, was March 20 this year. For the southern hemisphere, this was the autumnal equinox. Far from being an arbitrary indicator of the changing seasons, March 20 (March 21 in some years) is significant for astronomical reasons. On March 20, 2009, at precisely 7:44 . EDT (March 20, 11:44 Universal Time), the Sun will cross directly over the Earth's equator. This moment is known as the vernal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. For the Southern Hemisphere, this is the moment of the autumnal equinox.
