A blues and ragtime fingerstyle guitarist and vocalist, she combines intricate syncopated Piedmont style fingerpicking with lap-slide guitar. Mary Flower, a 2012 Blues Music Award Nominee for "Acoustic Artist of the Year" and "Acoustic Album of the Year", is renowned for a uniquely personal vision of roots music that blends ragtime, acoustic blues, and folk styles. Technically dazzling yet grounded in the down-to-earth simplicity of early 20th century American music, Mary boasts more stylistic diversity than just about any other artist currently performing under the "acoustic blues" banner. She’s also made three instructional DVDs, Fingerstyle Ragtime Guitar, Fingerstyle Blues in E, and Guitar Arrangements in Dropped D Tuning.

Along with Mary’s dazzling guitar and unmatched lap steel, the record features empathetic performances from some of blues and roots music’s most accomplished practitioners. Mary's fourth Yellow Dog release is a stripped-down collection of a dozen songs. Calling upon the talent pool in her home town of Portland OR, she sat down with ten instrumentalists - and one singer - to make her most intimate record to date. Produced by Mary Flower.
