The Choir was a garage rock band largely active in the greater Cleveland area from the mid-1960s into the early 1970s. Originally called The Mods, their largest commercial success came with the release of their first single "It's Cold Outside" in December 1966. The song, considered by many to be a classic of the garage rock era, was featured on Pebbles, Volume 2, one of the earlier garage rock compilation LPs (issued in 1979)
Recordings of male choir and boy soprano for Night Prayers provided by Giya Kancheli. Kongerei was arranged for the Throat Singers of Tuva and Kronos. Mugam Sayagi, Quartet No. 4, A Cool Wind is Blowing and Night Prayers were written for Kronos. K'VAKARAT was written for Mikhail Alexandrovich and Kronos. K'VAKARAT was commissioned by the Wexner Center Foundation on the occasion of the dedication of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, . Night Prayers was commissioned by the Beigler Trust and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
