Waltz for Debby is a live album by jazz pianist and composer Bill Evans and his Trio consisting of Evans, bassist Scott LaFaro, and drummer Paul Motian. It was released in 1962. The album was the fourth and final effort from the unit-LaFaro died in a car accident just ten days after the live date at the Village Vanguard from which Waltz for Debby and its predecessor, Sunday at the Village Vanguard were taken. Paul Motian (1931-2011) on JAZZ. Drummer Paul Motian passed away this morning at the age of 80. Motian has always been at the forefront of the jazz world, coming of age in the Bill Evans Trio in the 50s, he has worked behind the kit for an all-star array of Jazz Musicians including Keith Jarrett, Paul Bley, Thelonious Monk, Joe Lovano and many, many more. Motian also had the distinction of playing at Woodstock backing up folk pioneer Arlo Guthrie.

The Cowboy Bebop anime series was accompanied by a number of soundtrack albums composed by Yoko Kanno and Seatbelts, a diverse band Kanno formed to create the music for the series, with a principal focus in jazz.
