Band Name Municipal Waste. Album Name Slime and Punishment. Released date 23 June 2017. Labels Nuclear Blast. He’s very talented and reminds me of the bassist from classic Possessed. The title track, Slime and Punishment, begins with sharp and catchy guitar hooks. The guitar riffs slice and dice with some quaint stutter movements. The bass rhythms nonchalantly reinforce the drive forward, as the drummer takes a back seat role.

Design Concept – Riss Hoff. Engineer – Josh Hall, Robert Caldwell (2). Guitar, Vocals – Ryan Waste. Layout – Marcelo Vasco. Lead Guitar – Nick Poulos.

Welcome back, Municipal Waste! It’s been a long five years since we’ve gotten new material from the neo-thrash giants, but Waste just unleashed a new track from their upcoming sixth studio album, Slime and Punishment. Since 2003’s Waste ‘Em All, Municipal Waste have been on a strict schedule of putting out albums every two or three years. After The Fatal Feast hit fans in 2012, Waste put down the beer and hash for a bit, opting to sleep off their hangover and come back fully recovered

It’s hard to believe it’s been five years since Virginia’s Municipal Waste’s last album, Fatal Feast, but thankfully they finally return with album number six, Slime and Punishment, another speed frenzy all you can thrash buffet. If you want a riff laden enjoyable album to kick start a session then Slime and Punishment could well be the soundtrack to kick start those good times. If Municipal Waste had showed a way to get more competitive and competent on The Fatal Feast, on Slime and Punishment they inexplicably took a severe step back from their accomplishments, returning once more into the thrashing realm of mediocrity. Everything here is a miniature of what the band used to be only 5 years before: constipated howls as vocals, useless solos, an astounding lack of humor and words in the lyrics and, most of all, a slight slowing of pace on almost all of the tracks featured here. Maybe the band was getting tired of existing? The only cure to that symptom is disbanding or, at least, taking a break. Not showing to everyone that you’re on the verge of breaking apart.
