Chico Science & Nação Zumbi - Maxximum mp3 download
I've made it in Pernambuco, april 1996.
Chico Science & Nação Zumbi was undoubtedly one of the best and most creative bands to emerge in Brazil in 1990s. Their fantastic debut, Da Lama ao Caos, with its raw, powerful blend of hardcore, rock, maracatu, and samba has already been considered a classic for some time. This collection brings together some of the best tracks from the band's first three albums. That is, the ones recorded before Chico Science's tragic and much premature death in 1996. Maxximum gives the listener a very good overview of Nação Zumbi's early work, but it has to be said that Da Lama ao Caos is really well worth getting altogether, as it is a great album from start to finish. Chico Science's potent, aggressive voice backed up by the heavy, crunching guitar riffs and the maracatu drums is simply great rock by any standards.
Chico Science & Nação Zumbi (CSNZ) was the former name of the Brazillian band led by Chico Science prior to his death on February 2, 1997. The remaining musicians continued on under the name Nação Zumbi. CSNZ released two albums by the time of Chico's death, Da Lama ao Caos (From Mud to Chaos) in 1994 and Afrociberdelia in 1996. Both were critically acclaimed. The band was the major name in the fertile musical scene in the Brazillian city of Recife by the 90's. Together with the Mundo Livre S/A band, they were the main voices of the Manguebeat movement.
Da Lama ao Caos (From Mud to Chaos) is the debut album of the Brazilian band Chico Science & Nação Zumbi. Released in 1994, the album presents a fusion of funk rock and maracatu and contributed for spreading music of Pernambuco around the world. Da Lama ao Caos is considered the manifesto album of Manguebeat movement. It was listed by Rolling Stone Brazil as one of the 100 best Brazilian albums in history (13th position). The magazine also voted its title track as the 22nd greatest Brazilian song.

About a Minitour do seu primeiro álbum.

About Chico Science & Nação Zumbi. Born amidst the rich cultural tradition of Northeast, Chico Science began to experiment with afro bloco (Carnival group) Lamento Negro's Gilmar, blending maracatu with reggae, funk, rap, and rock. The mixture of regional rhythms with world pop music, played by guitar, bass, samplers, and other tech gadgets, was named by him as "mangue" (a reference to the mud flats of Recife). The result was Science's manifesto Caranguejos com Cérebro (brained crabs), another reference to the mangues of Recife, related to the crabs which live in the mud. After being recognized in their region, Chico Science e Nação Zumbi began to perform in Southeast, when they were invited for the Brazilian MTV Awards and MTV No Ar. Receiving invitations from several recording companies, they opted for Sony Music.
