Beloved television actor Sherman Hemsley passed away Tuesday. While perhaps best known for his role as George Jefferson on All in the Family and The Jeffersons, Hemsley demonstrated his vocal chops in a side gig as a singer. Hemsley’s 1992 R&B album Dance proved to be the perfect title considering the actor’s fancy feet mastery. In celebration of Hemsley’s life, we compiled five videos showing off Sherman’s finest dance moves. Heaven just got a little bit groovier. Topics: Video, Videos, Culture, YouTube.

WTF? Osirisx11 16:50, 4 March 2007 (UTC). I mean, Sherman Hemsley was like 38, the character that he played was around 50 to 60. Isabel Sanford, who played his wife in this series was more then 20 years older then he was. - -8. 77. 205 02:04, 12 April 2007 (UTC). Around 1993 or 1994 he recorded a full album called "Dance" which had a single released, a remake of "Louie Louie". I know these records are hard to find and not in print anywhere, but if I can find the right material to make another topic, I'd like to put something on Sherman's singing. Sherman also appeared on the tv show Solid Gold and sang "eyes in the dark" in 1986.
