Plácido Domingo - The La. .has been added to your Cart. The Latin Album Collection" showcases eight delightful discs of Domingo's recordings of popular Spanish songs recorded between 1984 and 2002. Several are devoted to the works of just one pivotal composer: "Siempre en mi corazón" focuses on the hits of Cuban musician Ernesto Lecuona; "Soñadores de España" is comprised of songs by the Spaniard Manuel Alejandro; and "Bajo el Cielo Español" consists of works by Mexican composer Augustín Lara best known for his composition "Granada. Quiereme mucho ( Love Me Greatly ) This set of 17 songs, boleros and more didn’t appeal to me as much some of the other discs included here, but still a fine effort worth hearing. This set is handsomely packaged with each CD contained in a cardboard sheath that also features original cover art.

Quiéreme mucho" is a criolla-bolero composed between 1915 and 1917 by Gonzalo Roig with lyrics by Augustin Rodriguez. It was first recorded in 1922 by singer Tito Schipa. In 1931, the English version, "Yours", was published in the United States. It featured lyrics in English written by Albert Gamse and Jack Sherr. Both versions have been extensively recorded and arranged by different musicians, becoming Latin music standard.
