These stories lie somewhere near the center of the hunting way of life. Some folks even seem to enjoy the storytelling part even more than the hunting part. We've all heard tales of big bucks, close calls, miserable-weather hunts, and epic shots. Humorous situations just seem to arise when you're out on the hunt. One gent who had a knack for telling funny hunting stories was Jerry Clower

Jerry Clower's hilarious stories about possum hunting, coon dogs, and the rambunctious Ledbetter clan were standards in his stage routines, videos, and albums. Here, too, is a long interview in which he explored his beliefs and tells how he gained firm convictions about race, religion, education, and family as well as an intolerance of negativism.

Jerry Clower’s clean, country humor gets proper representation on this well-assembled Greatest Hits, a collection that, since its release in 1994, has launched many a hunting season with some down home laughs. All of Clower’s most colorful characters are here, including Uncle Versie (the king of bird huntin’) Marcel Ledbetter (the king of schemes), and Claude Ledbetter (the king of catching fish)
