Elmer Bernstein (April 4, 1922 – August 18, 2004) was an American composer and conductor best known for his numerous film scores. In a career that spanned more than five decades, he composed "some of the most recognizable and memorable themes in Hollywood history", including over 150 original movie scores, as well as scores for nearly 80 television productions.

Though it captures only a small handful of his work, Elmer Bernstein: Movie and TV Themes finds the famed film and television composer conducting a set of classic material, including music from Walk on the Wild Side, Sweet Smell of Success, and The Man with the Golden Arm.
