Julian Crook Argüelles (born 28 January 1966) is an English jazz saxophonist. He arranges and writes music, tours as a sideman, and leads bands. He is a professor of jazz saxophone at the KUG Jazz Institute in Graz, Austria. Born in Lichfield, Staffordshire, Argüelles was raised in nearby Birmingham. He is the younger brother of the jazz drummer Steve Argüelles.

Julian Crook Argüelles. 28 January 1966 (age 53) Lichfield, Staffordshire, England. The second, Home Truths, was a quartet which included Steve Swallow. In 1999 Argüelles released Escapade. His second, some five years later, was As Above So Below – a large scale work for jazz and classical musicians with the 20 piece Trinity College of Music String Ensemble. The album evolved from a commission that was performed in Saint Wendreda's Church in March in the Fens. He was commissioned by BBC Radio 3 to write 60 minutes of music for an octet.

Julian Argüelles Clarke, 28 January 1966, Lichfield, Staffordshire, England. During his teenage years, saxophonist and composer Argüelles played with various big bands in and around Birmingham, England. He also played in the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and the European Community Big Band. In 1984 he moved to London to study at Trinity College of Music, then joined Loose Tubes, touring with this band throughout Europe. Argüelles also worked with Chris McGregor’s Brotherhood Of Breath, touring Americans including Archie Shepp, and with his brother Steve Argüelles
