The Gambler is the sixth studio album by Kenny Rogers, released by United Artists in December 1978. One of his most popular, it has established Rogers' status as one of the most successful artists of the 1970s and 1980s.

By a happy accident, Riverboat Gambler was next in line to Briar Fox in my "to be smoked" pile. Both are basically VaBurs by C&D and I thought I'd make a comparison. We are all familiar with VAPERS but I call Riverboat Gambler a TURPER, . a Turkish Perique blend. My palate did not like the dominance of these two tobaccos. The first third of the bowl was pleasant and even welcoming but as I progressed down the bowl it became increasingly strong, bitter and harsh.

Riverboat Gamblers is an American punk rock band originally from Denton, Texas, formed in 1997, now residing in Austin, Texas. The band's current line-up comprises vocalist Mike Wiebe, guitarist Fadi El-Assad, guitarist Ian MacDougall, bassist Rob Marchant and drummer Ian Walling. In 1997, Patrick Lillard ("Spider Stewart") (Bass) and Fadi El-Assad ("Freddy Castro") (Lead Guitar), formed The Riverboat Gamblers with Mike Wiebe ("Rookie Sensation") (vocals).

Tongue planted firmly in cheek, The Riverboat Gamblers continued to play house parties and shows throughout Denton and the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The Gamblers burst out of the Denton college scene in September of 2001 on the back of their self-released 7" single "Jenna Is A No Show. Their eponymous debut LP in 2001 was followed by 2003's "Something To Crow About" on Gearhead Records which led to their eventual signing to Volcom Entertainment and a place on the 2005 Warped Tour where the band gained wider recognition for their stand-out live performances
