Chainsaw Masochist - Facing Up album released on Tape via Still Ill Tapes in 1989. Flying Nun signed them in late 1990 and released a single and their only album Periphery – a reserved, carefully crafted offering, with occasionally noisy guitars, which showcased Couling’s often dark, introspective lyrics. Periphery was their last despatch

Chainsaw Masochist covered Engelbert Humperdinck’s MOR hit The Last Waltz on their Periphery album because they already had their own song about two lonely people. 3 col el, class ImageableImage. 3 col el, class LabelPerson::ActiveRecord Associations CollectionProxy. Periphery is the debut studio album by American progressive metal band Periphery, signed by Sumerian Records and released on April 20, 2010. Many songs on the tracklist had been written long before the release date-with some written by original lead vocalist Casey Sabol-but due to membership changes, the album was postponed on several occasions. Former vocalist Chris Barretto had nearly finished recording the album before he and the band parted ways months before its release

Periphery return with the 6th studio album oddly titled Periphery IV: Hail Stan. One of the leading bands in the Djent movement, Periphery have continually shown growth and maturity with each album and their latest is the culmination of what this band has been aiming towards. The aggressive nature is still very much intact, but this time with more diversity, more melody, and just fantastic songwriting. If you have not given this band a chance before, this is the album to do so. Look no further than the stunning opener Reptile, perhaps the best song the band has done to date
