U2 are an Irish rock band from Dublin. The band formed in 1976 and released their debut EP Three in 1979 exclusively in Ireland. Following the release of their single "Another Day" in 1980, U2 signed a recording contract with Island Records, and released their first album, Boy, later that year. The band has since released 14 studio albums, the most recent being Songs of Experience in 2017. U2 Lyrics by Title – U. om. U2 by Song Title – U2Wanderer.
October is the second studio album by Irish rock band U2. It was released on 12 October 1981 by Island Records, and was produced by Steve Lillywhite. The album was lyrically inspired by the memberships of Bono, the Edge, and Larry Mullen Jr. in a Christian group called the "Shalom Fellowship", and consequently it contains spiritual and religious themes
Fed up with soaring, earnest bombast, U2 sequestered itself in Berlin at the tail end of the Cold War, dug deep into dance music and distortion, nearly fought itself into breaking up and emerged in 1991 with a heady masterpiece that sounds fresh decades later. Critical responses to Achtung Baby tend to fixate on its trashy, ironic qualities (the mangled guitar growl that opens "Zoo Station" does set the tone).
The 11-track album was announced in California yesterday at an event to launch two new Apple products: the iPhone 6 and smartwatch. It's exciting and humbling to think that people who don’t know U2 or listen to rock music for that matter might check us out. Working with Apple is always a blast. They only want to do things that haven’t been done before – that’s a thrill to be part o.

The problem is Nash's lyrics. As it stands, Made from Bricks perfectly highlights the downside of the dizzying speed at which rock and pop music currently moves.
U2 is readying a new album for tentative release in April, Billboard has learned, and is shopping for brand partners to announce the new project via a Super Bowl commercial. Producer Danger Mouse (real name Brian Burton) has been helming the set, which was recorded primarily at New York's Electric Lady Studios. Danger Mouse, who is perhaps best known for his work with Gnarls Barkley, Broken Bells and for the 2004 Jay-Z/Beatles mashup "The Grey Album, has been in the mix for a new U2 set since 2010. Principle is the company of longtime U2 manager Paul McGuinness and Madonna manager Guy Oseary runs Maverick. Driving the meetings on the brand-partnership for U2’s new album is Oseary, who has been running U2's day-to-day affairs for a while, Billboard understands.
