This solid Honey Cone collection kicks off with "One Monkey Don't Stop No Show," which, along with "Don't Count Your Chickens Before They Hatch," is one of many songs that Invictus/Hot Wax writers wrote from old sayings. Want Ads" and "Stick Up," which both placed high in the charts, are infectious, overpowering gems, while the rolling ballad "The Day I Found Myself" is the perfect vehicle for Edna Wright, Carolyn Willis, and Shellie Clark's top-shelf vocals.

Soulful Tapestry is the third studio album by girl group the Honey Cone. It was released by Hot Wax/Invictus Records in 1971 (see 1971 in music). The name of the album was based on and inspired by Carole King's Pop/Rock break-through 1971 album Tapestry.

Soulful Tapestry Tracklist. 1. One Monkey Don't Stop No Show-Part-1 Lyrics. 3. Don't Count Your Chickens (Before They Hatch) Lyrics.

Soulful Tapestry (1971). Want Ads. was sampled in.

Honey Cone was an American R&B and soul all-girl vocal group, who are best remembered for their Billboard hit single, "Want Ads".

Of course, the Honey Cone's anthology "Soulful Sugar" contains their complete recordings very cost-effectively and makes this CD almost unecessary, but if you just want a single CD of this tantalizing trio at their best, then go for this. 4 people found this helpful. The trio issued two albums by the time it got around to recording vocals for "Soulful Tapestry," its third album. The album featured the trio's million selling single "Want Ads," a pop-soul ditty that topped the nation's music charts in 1971.

Honey Cone: Soulful Tapestry Just as Sweet Replies repeated two cuts from the dud debut Take Me With You, this one repeats two from Sweet Replies-only not verbatim, which must make it all right. Wish they'd improved "The Day I Found Myself," rearranged and lengthened at a slower tempo, and "Want Ads," dulled with a bassier mix and stretched with orchestral break and vocal coda.
