Simon Warner - Waiting Rooms mp3 download
Instead, he has a lyrical and musical grace that makes his debut Waiting Rooms a wonderful record, filled with grandiose melancholy and doomed romanticism.
Waiting Rooms by Simon Warner is an album worthy of 'classic status', but sadly this imperfect world may not have been quite ready to recognize the beauty.
Waiting Rooms (album). Waiting Rooms (1997) is the debut (and to date, only) album by English singer-songwriter Simon Warner. In part a product of the fashion for orchestral pop in mid-1990s Britain, the album is strongly influenced by Anthony Newley and Jacques Brel. The album was produced by former House of Love bass guitarist Chris Groothuizen in collaboration with Warner and his keyboard player/co-arranger Richard Benbow. Waiting Rooms produced two singles, 'Wake Up The Streets' and 'The Wrong Girl' (the latter a vinyl-only release). Neither single was a hit. Contents.

Simon Warner (born 1967) is an English musician and songwriter, known mainly for his 1997 orchestral pop album Waiting Rooms. Similar in intent to orchestral popsters such as the Divine Comedy, My Life Story and Eric Matthews, Simon Warner sketches influences from Bowie and Marc Bolan all the way back to Jacques Brel. Raised by classical-minded parents, Warner rebelled by turning to punk rock; after seeing one of Brel's films, however, he began to once more appreciate mature musical artists. Though he began writing songs in the mid-'80s, he was unemployed for much of the decade.
