Silva America (SSD 1100). Choosing not to try to jam all 19 movies onto one or even two CDs was Silva's smartest move for this release. All the selected tracks are well paced, almost perfect in length, and flow evenly across all the films represented

John Barry and Monty Norman. Dr. No OST. United Artists 1962. James Bond Theme by Art of Noise (1989). James Bond Theme (Moby's Re-Version) by Moby (1997).
Though the "James Bond Theme" is identified with John Barry's jazz arrangement, parts of it are heard throughout Monty Norman's score for Dr. No in non-jazzy guises. Barry's arrangement is repeated ("tracked") in various scenes of the first Bond film. In Goldfinger, the "James Bond Theme" can be heard on the soundtrack in "Bond Back in Action Again" (gunbarrel and pre-title sequence). The "James Bond Theme" for this movie is heavily influenced by the brassy, jazzy theme song sung by Shirley Bassey. Thunderball featured a full orchestral version of the theme in the track "Chateau Flight".

For the James Bond enthusiast spirit in many of us I suppose it is still better than nothing at all for the 50th Anniversary. The Laser Beam" from GOLDFINGER, "Switching The Body" from THUNDERBALL, "Snow Job" from A VIEW TO A KILL and "Vesper" from CASINO ROYALE are excellent cuts. However, this collection remains a curiosity piece and perfunctory at best. The album is only missing the theme songs from the two newest Bond films: Skyfall and Spectre, which can be easily purchased individually. I would highly recommend this album for any die hard Bond fans out there.
James Bond, Vol. 2 book. All-action plot where Bond lives up to his rep' and uses abundantly his license to kill. It's a real pleasure to read Ellis' densely packed story. It would be as good with another operative but this particular operative being Bond enhances the experience. When he is back in England, he finds the service is not allowed t 'James Bond, Vol. 2: Eidolon' by Warren Ellis with art by Jason Masters collects a complete story from issues 7-12 of the series from Dynamite Comics. It works for the most part. James finds himself scrambling to find weapons in this storyline as he travels to Los Angeles and has to borrow a gun from Felix Leiter. he runs across another MI6 agent under fire, and the strange word 'eidolon' which means ghost or spectre.
