Molasses Creek - Citybound mp3 download
Like their previous album Wildheart, the band has shifted to fuller arrangements here and has written fewer original songs. With banjoist Stan Brown and mandolin player Brent Truitt, Molasses Creek has shaped a sound that is closer to bluegrass. The first several songs, including a charged version of "Glendale Train," re-enforce this bluegrass connection. But Molasses Creek has always been an eclectic group, drawing from folk and traditional music as well.

When you live at Ocracoke Island, NC, 23 miles from the mainland and 3 hours from the nearest Wal-Mart, you learn to adapt to your environment, whether that means catching the last ferry off the island ahead of the latest hurricane or living with only one TV channel (the Muldavian Shopping Network) coming in fuzzy on the rabbit ears. Together since 1993, Molasses Creek has released 4 albums of exciting acoustic music, the most recent of which includes guests Vassar Clements, Gene Wooten, and David Grier. It was Stanjo's Nashville connections that inspired the band to record "citybound" in Music City. After a wonderful week of high adventure, the band returned to their island home bringing with them one hot album, and many fine memories. But don't worry; the big city didn't change them (except for Fiddler Dave's rhinestone boxers - very trendy).
The Great Molasses Flood, also known as the Boston Molasses Disaster or the Great Boston Molasses Flood, and sometimes referred to locally as the Boston Molassacre, occurred on January 15, 1919 in the North End neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts
The two farms are absolutely 100% unrelated to each other! It looks like Molasses Creek Horse Farm is having a show this coming weekend. This is not MCF’s show! Our first show for the spring season is April 29th. Hope this clears up some of the confusion. January 4 at 2:31 PM ·. Dixon Equine LLC.
Molasses Creek hails from the Outer Banks of North Carolina on the picturesque island of Ocracoke. The origin of the band's name is simple for a visitor to Ocracoke Island to discern: Molasses Creek is the name of a small brook that runs across the island. The band is comprised of guitarist/vocalist Gary Mitchell, bass player/vocalist Kitty Mitchell, and vocalist/fiddler David Streicher Tweedie, better known as "Fiddler Dave.
