This LP is actually a reissue of the Europe Records bootleg Earl's Court, which the equally illicit Berkeley label reissued as Kashmir in 1976. And because ZAP knew exactly where and when these performances were recorded, there was no excuse for not providing that information.
Led Zeppelin's 1975 North American Tour was the tenth concert tour of North America by the English rock band. The tour was divided into two legs, with performances commencing on 18 January and concluding on 27 March 1975. It was preceded with two European warm-up shows, performed at Rotterdam and Brussels respectively. This tour took place nearly 18 months after the conclusion of their previous concert tour, which was the longest break between concerts yet taken by the band.

Led Zeppelin's second album was recorded during the precious little downtime they had on their endless 1969 world tour. It took them months to record in studios all across America and Europe, yet somehow it sounds cohesive. The track listing almost reads like a greatest hits collection: "Whole Lotta Love," "Thank You," "Heartbreaker," "What Is And What Should Never Be" and "Bring It On Home. The band's punishing tour schedule infused them with new passion and creativity, and they really learned how to function as a unit.
