George R. Crook (September 8, 1828 – March 21, 1890) was a career United States Army officer, most noted for his distinguished service during the American Civil War and the Indian Wars. During the 1880s, the Apache nicknamed Crook Nantan Lupan, which means "Chief Wolf. Crook was born to Thomas and Elizabeth Matthews Crook on a farm near Taylorsville, Montgomery County, Ohio (near Dayton).

Fever In The Funkhouse, a Dallas Icon from the 90's Deep Ellum music scene, formed in 1988 from the suburbs of DeSoto and Waxahachie, Texas, just outside of Dallas. Fever created post modern country rock mixed with elements of funk and jazz. Their dynamic and powerful live performances earned them a large cult fan base, numerous awards, including Best Act Overall 1991 Dallas Observer, and a development deal with Polygram/Mercury.
