McCartney’s First Debut at No. 1: Egypt Station is Macca’s first album to debut at No. 1. He had previously logged a pair of No. 2-debuting sets with 1997’s Flaming Pie and 2001’s Wingspan: Hits and History. As an aside, The Beatles logged four No. 1 debuts, all with albums in the 1990s and 2000s: Anthology 1 (1995), Anthology 2 (1996) and Anthology 3 (1996) and 1 (2000). McCartney was in full-on promo mode during the album's release week, though the campaign for the album really started with his Carpool Karaoke episode, which debuted on June 21 during CBS’ The Late Late Show With James Corden. The 23-minute long segment has been viewed more than 32 million times worldwide on YouTube.

In the Blue Light is the fourteenth solo studio album by American folk rock singer-songwriter Paul Simon. Produced by Paul Simon and Roy Halee, it was released on September 7, 2018, through Legacy Recordings. The album consists of re-recordings of select lesser-known songs from Simon's catalog, often altering their original arrangements, harmonic structures, and lyrics

This album consists of songs that I thought were almost right, or were odd enough to be overlooked the first time around. Re-doing arrangements, harmonic structures, and lyrics that didn’t make their meaning clear, gave me time to clarify in my own head what I wanted to say, or realize what I was thinking and make it more easily understood. Since Paul's back catalog is already beyond reproach, I was most curious about the remainder of the song selections and what path he would choose upon revisiting. I would love to be able to hand select another 10 to 15 songs from Paul's back catalog and have him create another album of remakes. Overall, this first pass was a glowing success from one of my musical heroes. I hope he continues to make new music in the years to come.

The band has been in the studio for months working on a new album and today we get the first taste of new music from their forthcoming disc, One More Light, which we now know is due May 19. The group just debuted the new song "Heavy" via a Los Angeles radio station KROQ, and that's just the beginning of what's to come today. The song, a more melodic track, features guest vocals from Kiara Saulters (aka Kiiara), and finds the band utilizing the talents of pop songwriter Emily Wright, who has penned hits for Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Flo Rida
