The Staatskapelle Dresden names former Principal Conductor of long standing, Herbert Blomstedt, as their Conductor Laureate in recognition of his unique contribution to the orchestra. 2011 Staatskapelle Dresden to become orchestra for the Salzburg Easter Festival, and Christian Thielemann the festival’s Artistic Director.
