Based in Stockholm and signed to excellent UK psych label Cardinal Fuzz Records and danish bad Afro Records, THE JANITORS appear as an XL proportioned five-piece live. Ever fond of describing their own sound, the band pinpoint their output as noise, monotony and pop songs.

1)The Janitors were an alternative rock/Noise rock band from Sunderland & Newcastle, formed in 1984. They were led by singer Andrew Denton, who was backed by Craig Hope (guitar, keyboards), Simon Warnes (bass guitar), and Tim Stirland (drums). Described as "a mixture of Membranes meeting Captain Beefheart, they signed to Marc Riley's In-Tape label, releasing their debut single, "Chicken Stew" in July 1985.

The Janitors originally formed in the fall of 1982. Then based at Virginia Tech, they played clubs and special events throughout Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina until October 1985. During that time the band became enormously popular, frequently being sought out for larger and larger shows. Re-formed in 1988,and now based in Virginia Beach, the group has expanded it's region to include the entire East Coast and has developed into one of the most sought after groups in the region  .
