Judy Niemack (b. March 11, 1954, Pasadena, California) is an American jazz vocalist.

Judy Niemack (born March 11, 1954, Pasadena, California) is an American jazz vocalist. Niemack sang in a church choir from age seven. She decided on a professional career in singing at age 17, and soon after met Warne Marsh, who encouraged her to explore jazz. She studied jazz at Pasadena City College, and later at the New England Conservatory of Music and the Cleveland Institute of Music.

All music Judy Niemack.

14 songs and exercises sung by Judy Niemack, Sheila Jordan, Mark Murphy and Darmon Meader, warm-ups, riffs, scales and harmony; vocal version and accompaniment-only recordings of each song, tracks by top New York City jazz musicians. After spending my first (and coldest) New York Winter gratefully living in the guest room at saxophonist Ted Brown's house on Long Island, a place opened up in the Bronx and my New York stories really began. I met Jim McNeely when he played with Stan Getz. He heard me at my first major gig in NYC, a week-long engagement with Warne Marsh’s band at the Village Vanguard, singing Lennie Tristano lines, and was apparently impressed.

Judy Niemack's experiences, and friendships created in New York have shaped her career and life. One of the most important friendships turned out to be that of the great pianist, composer and arranger Jim McNeely. Niemack's new recording with McNeely, New York Stories, shows the depth of their musical and personal affinity as they present pieces they arranged together over the years, and, finally, have recorded together, along with the Danish Radio Big Band.
