The Beach Boys' Christmas Album is the seventh studio album by the Beach Boys, released in November 1964. it contains five original songs and seven standards on a Christmas theme. The album proved to be a long-running success during subsequent Christmas seasons, initially reaching number six in the US Billboard 200 chart in its year of release and eventually going gold. Music historian James Perone wrote that it is "regarded as one of the finest holiday albums of the rock era".

By the end of 1964, the Beach Boys were established as one of America’s top groups. They were now an international attraction as well, having mounted their first overseas trip with an Australian tour early in ’64, and after their first major US itinerary, November saw them in the UK for their first promotional trip. The one thing missing was a No. 1 US album, and that arrived on 5 December, in the form of their first live record.

Even more crucially, the Beach Boys simply didn't play nearly as well on-stage as on record, at least at this concert; the arrangements are thin and the playing and singing are ragged, though the group is enthusiastic
