Preceded by the singles "I Want to Be a Cowboy's Sweetheart" and "Somewhere Between", the album reached number 41 on the Billboard Top Country Albums during its 37-week chart stay. The album's third single "Cross My Broken Heart" peaked at number 14 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs.

The Phoenix is the fifth studio album by American alternative metal band CKY. Recorded primarily at Rancho De La Luna in Joshua Tree, California, it was produced by vocalist and guitarist Chad I Ginsburg and released on June 16, 2017 as the group's first album on Entertainment One Music. The album was the band's first to be recorded following the departure of original frontman Deron Miller, who left in 2011, and the last to feature bassist Matt Deis, who returned in 2015.

The Phoenix is the opening track on Fall Out Boy’s comeback album Save Rock and Roll. Many interpret the song to be the band’s statement regarding the end of their hiatus: they started it because they felt burnt out, but now they rise out of these ashes like a phoenix. The song is unique in that it is the only Fall Out Boy song that premiered with its music video – up until the point of its release, fans had never heard the song. This was done to help promote the start of the Young Blood Chronicles, a series of videos based on each song from the record. The Phoenix was well received by fans, which caused Fall Out Boy to use the song as the opener for the Save Rock and Roll tour as well as Monumentour. It peaked at on the Billboard Hot 100 and appeared on other charts. In the UK, it topped the Rock and Metal chart.

The phoenix (Ancient Greek: Φοῖνιξ, phoínix) is a mythical firebird which dies in flames and is reborn from the ashes. Scholars have observed analogues to the phoenix in a variety of cultures, including the Hindu Garuda and Gandaberunda, the Russian firebird, the Persian anka and simorgh, the Turkish kerkes, the Tibetan Me byi karmo, the Chinese fenghuang, and the Japanese ho-oh. Change is the constant, the signal for rebirth, the egg of the phoenix. Christina Baldwin, in One to One (1977).

But some of Mr. Mars’s elliptical lyrics seem to nod to the idea of finding joy or love in a darkening era.

Album when referring to recorded music dates back to a collection of several 78 RPM records that were actually collected together in a book (album). An album is a release with two 2 - 7 or more tracks will be considered an album, basically a LP that is promoted and sold where Neilsen Soundscan can keep track; also count towards a record contract to being completed. Albums are made by artists but controlled by record labels on every level; even the creation process. Currently, with the arrival of the CD, the distinction between simple, EP, and LP (album) is arbitrary, and is based on both artistic and commercial factors. Generally, an EP has a maximum duration of 20-25 minutes and is usually a Mini-CD type disc.

As mentioned previously, the authorship of The Phoenix is up for debate, but may have been the work of Cynewulf, as there are verbal and stylistic similarities between his literary works and The Phoenix. The beginning of The Phoenix describes the Garden of Eden as a Paradise, meant only for believers, in eastern lands, of sweet smells and means of extremes; the weather is mild: it never snows, rains, nor is the sun hot. There are no distinguishing geographical features whatsoever, like mountains, or valleys.
