Les Violons du Roy / José Bragato - Piazzolla mp3 download

Album · 2005 · 10 Songs.

The juxtaposition of Astor Piazzolla and Antonio Vivaldi may at first seem like an unusual artistic decision. But after listening to this arrangement of Piazzolla's Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, which includes direct quotes from Vivaldi's Four Seasons, the synthesis seems very natural. Also changed from the original, the use of solo violin and string orchestra is very successful and provides exciting byplay between the soloist and accompaniment

Composed By – Astor Piazzolla (tracks: 1 to 7, 9, 10), José Bragato (tracks: 8). Conductor – Jean-Marie Zeitouni. Double Bass – Raphaël McNabney, Étienne Lépine-Lafrance.

PIAZZOLLA Les Violons du Roy Jean-Marie Zeitouni. Received a 2007 Juno Award for best classical album by a solo performer or chamber ensemble. Les Violons du Roy dance the tango for their second ATMA Classique recording! The Argentinean tango breathes sensuality, passion, and even violence, yet often emanates a profound nostalgia. Piazzolla and Bragato both attempted to reconcile serious music and Argentine popular music; the mixture explodes with modernity. Piazzolla's version of the Seasons (arranged for violin and strings by Russian composer Leonid Desyatnikov ), is filled with musical allusions to Vivaldi's Four Seasons.

Lalo Schifrin - Pampas Antonio Lysy ‘cello, Bryan Pezzone piano. There is no good reason for this. It is one of the greatest pieces on the album. It was a space decision. A recent program with Les Violons du Roi in their new and fabulous hall in the heart of Quebec city, led "Le Soleil" to remark: "Antonio Lysy shone and enchanted his audience in an arrangement for cello and strings of Schubert's Arpeggione". He presented a multimedia concert with pianist and comedian Jean Marchand, showcasing the history of his Carlo Tononi cello on its the 300th birthday.

Far from being the cartoonish parodies that tend to make it into our popular culture, these tangos are some of the slickest, sexiest music you'll ever hear.
