Start by marking Late Joys At The Players' Theatre as Want to Read: Want to Read savin. ant to Read. One reason for publishing the Late Joys was a desire to put on record a history of the Players’ Theatre, which started from such a small beginning in 1936, and by its courage and persistence maintained, in its revival of the past, such a high standard that it has eventually attained its present place in the theatre world. ORIGINAL CAST ALBUM: COMPANY Packed with drama, D. A. Pennebaker’s documentary goes inside the recording studio for the original Broadway cast album of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth’s groundbreaking 1970 musical Company. Sondheim and director Harold Prince provide illuminating insight, and performances by Dean Jones’ ( Being Alive ) and Elaine Stritch, who comes to a standstill during a frazzled late-night recording of Ladies Who Lunch, will leave.
