Slow Train - Song of the Day mp3 download
Slow Train Coming is the 19th studio album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, released on August 20, 1979 by Columbia Records. It was Dylan's first effort since converting to Christianity, and all of the songs either express his strong personal faith, or stress the importance of Christian teachings and philosophy. The evangelical nature of the record alienated many of Dylan's existing fans; at the same time, many Christians were drawn into his fan base
Can't Slow Down is the debut album by American rock band Saves the Day, released on August 11, 1998, by Equal Vision Records. Saves the Day formed in late 1997. The album was produced by Steve Evetts purely because Evetts had previously worked with Lifetime – a band vocalist Chris Conley loved. It was recorded during the winter break of Conley's senior year of high school, and released after the band graduated from high school.
For this list we're ranking the best songs about trains ever written. Trains are a great way to travel and a fantastic topic for songs. Some of the best songs that mention trains are traveling songs, while others only allude to trains without ever mentioning them. Trains are often used a metaphor for life, like in John Mayer's beautiful song "Stop This Train". Johnny Cash wrote and performed several of the best train songs. His lyrics to Folsom Prison Blues contain the words train and track.
One of the better tracks on the 1979 release Slow Train Coming, "Slow Train" is cast in the mold of Dylan's great protest songs, but now Dylan's moral outrage comes from a Christian perspective
Slow Train is unequivocally in the tradition of the state of the union songs that Bob Dylan has put on every record he’s ever done. But for the first time since Highway 61 Revisited, the song that is his boldest statement on the American condition is the title tune, which signals the theme of the album. The title track is nothing less than Dylan’s most mature and profound song about America. His patriotism is absolutely clear: it is a statement filled with his belief in the American Dream, as well as being infused with outrage, and with anger. I think it’s his best state-of-the-union song.

There’s a slow, slow train comin’ up around the bend. I had a woman down in Alabama She was a backwoods girl, but she sure was realistic She said, Boy, without a doubt Have to quit your mess and straighten out You could die down here, be just another accident statistic There’s a slow, slow train comin’ up around the bend. Man’s ego is inflated, his laws are outdated, they don’t apply no more You can’t rely no more to be standin’ around waitin' In the home of the brave Jefferson turnin’ over in his grave Fools glorifying themselves, trying to manipulate Satan And there’s a slow, slow train comin’ up around the bend. Big-time negotiators, false healers and woman haters Masters of the bluff and masters of the proposition But the enemy I see Wears a cloak of decency All nonbelievers and men stealers talkin’ in the name of religion And there’s a slow, slow train comin’ up around the bend.
