His Franck/Fauré pairing is a seldom-trodden pathway that he has chosen. He enjoys exploring piano composition through works that were learnedly structured, deep, orchestral, with complex forms inherited from the Baroque period. Is David Bismuth cerebral? Not at all: simple and sincere in all things, this young thirty- something uses his everyday encounters and experiences as much as with his contact with the keyboard to nourish his music.
