Hummingbird is the second studio album by American indie rock band Local Natives, released on January 29, 2013 on Frenchkiss Records in the US, and on Infectious Records in Europe. Produced by The National guitarist Aaron Dessner, the album was preceded by the singles, "Breakers" and "Heavy Feet. Breakers" reached on the Billboard Top 200. The song "Mt. Washington" was also featured in the 2015 video game Life Is Strange.

Local Natives will soon be at a locality near you. The band has completed a new effort, titled Hummingbird, out on Jan. 29, and have dropped new song Breakers in celebration. It’s a little like Fleet Foxes raiding all of Dirty Projectors guitar processors, which is not at all a bad thing. Hummingbird was recorded in Los Angeles, Montreal and Brooklyn. In the case of the latter, the quartet hit up The National’s Aaron Dessner to produce, out of his Ditmas Park, Brooklyn studio. And of the former, the band actually outfitted their own new recording space in Silverlake.
Hummingbird (Local Natives album). Philip Cosores of Paste praised the album, stating, "Local Natives are frank in their presentation of a serious album, challenging listeners to heal along with them; cognizant that investment is proportional to remuneration". Larry Fitzmaurice of Pitchfork Media concluded that, "With Hummingbird, Local Natives have made a thoughtful, lovely album with small gestures that provide great rewards". that "they were scratching at the surface of their emotional capabilities on their debut. Hummingbird, Local Natives' second album, offers a tricky answer to that question. They're still on the same path- no fashionable synths or newfound fixation with 1990s R&B here- but innovation seems beside the point. This is a record of lateral growth, one that finds the band establishing their own place among their contemporaries.
