YACHT is the perfect proof that pop music is all about simplicity, song structure, directness and instinct. A successful album isnt made by musical improvment but by finding the very own specific expression. The power that results is truely lifting up. Any other band with this approach and with this sound would suck so hard. But this is YACHT and Shangri-La remains one of my favourite albums for years now. They should teach young bands lessons with this record.
