Gene Loves Jezebel - Promise mp3 download
Album by Gene Loves Jezebel. Screaming For Emmalene. Shower Me With Brittle Punches. Psychological Problems.
Promise (Gene Loves Jezebel album). Promise is the debut album by British gothic rock band Gene Loves Jezebel. Released in 1983 by Situation Two, it peaked at No. 8 on the UK Indie Chart. Upstairs" (J. Aston, M. Aston, Hudson) – 3:18. Bruises" (J. Aston) – 3:38. Pop Tarantula" (J. Aston) – 3:10. Screaming for Emmalene" (J. Aston) – 2:58. Scheming" (J. Aston) – 6:26.
One of the more common but effective elements on Promise is a sense of quick, dramatic changes. Strong examples include the moody intro into explosive guitar roar on "Upstairs," the building roll of verses into a wordless yell on "Screaming for Emmalene/Scheming," and the sudden drop out of the music towards the end of "Psychological Problems.
Gene Loves Jezebel (GLJ) are a British rock band formed in the early 1980s by identical twin brothers Jay Aston (born John Aston) and Michael. Gene Loves Jezebel's best-known songs include "Heartache", "Desire (Come and Get It)" (1986), "The Motion of Love" (1987), "Jealous" (1990) and "Break The Chain" (1993), as well as their broody dark alternative club hits "Bruises" (1983), "Influenza (Relapse)" (1984), and "The Cow" (1985). Desire" (1985) was GLJ's most successful single in the UK.

Gene Loves Jezebel is a Welsh gothic rock band from the early 1980s founded by twin brothers, Michael and Jay Aston. Michael Aston (vocals) was the poetic, goth-leaning side of the twin brothers while Jay Aston’s distinctive banshee-like, wailing vocals supplied Gene Loves Jezebel with one of their many trademark quirks. Originally called Slav Aryan, Gene Loves Jezebel began in 1980 with the brothers, guitarist Ian Hudson, and a drum machine. The Astons grew up in Porthcawl, South Wales, making the move to London in 1981.
