Rector released his first full-length album Twenty Tomorrow in 2007 and its follow-up Songs That Duke Wrote in 2008. During his college career at the University of Arkansas he played approximately 200 shows. In April 2009 Rector was given the Northwest Arkansas Music Award (NAMA) for best male singer-songwriter in Northwest Arkansas. In June 2009 Rector moved to Nashville to pursue songwriting and to continue his career as an artist. Following the release of Something Like This Rector headlined the "Good Time Tour" which spanned 25 cities with Andrew Belle and Graham Colton as support. Over half of the shows sold out in advance

Rector released his first album, "Twenty Tomorrow," in 2007, followed by "Songs That Duke Wrote" and "Into the Morning. Now Nashville-based, the prolific artist has maintained an intense touring schedule. He co-headlined the Three Amigos tour in 2010 with Steve Moakler and Andrew Ripp and toured that same year with Dave Barnes and Five for Fighting. Since then, he's toured with Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors as well as Matt Wertz. However, Steele says the push behind "Something Like This" was focused on "things we could actually control.

Nashville-based singer/songwriter Ben Rector makes passionate and melodic, piano-driven, adult alternative contemporary pop. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1986, he studied piano while he was growing up and, by his teens, was also singing, playing guitar, and writing his own music. However, it wasn't until he studied at the University of Arkansas that he began recording his songs. A self-titled EP that Rector released during his freshman year at college caught on locally, and soon he was playing live shows. In 2011, he returned with Something Like This, which also received positive attention (especially for an independent release) and climbed to number 41 on the album chart. In 2013, Rector released his fifth studio album, The Walking in Between, and easily cracked the Top 40. The concert album, Live in Denver, appeared in 2014.

The seventh studio LP by Nashville-based singer and songwriter Ben Rector, Magic follows behind the success of his first Top Ten album, 2016's Brand New. Rector's debut for OK Kid Recordings (via AWAL), it was produced by Tony Hoffer (Beck, Belle and Sebastian) and John Fields (Goo Goo Dolls, Soul Asylum).
